Proper belt tension affects the efficiency and life span of belt drives. If tension is low, slip can occur. If tension is high, it can cause the belt to snap and result in bearing or pulley damage.

The answer to proper tension is to use a belt tension gauge and follow suit with the appropriate adjustments. Follow along with Acoem technical trainer Stan Riddle as he guides us through the process of how to use a belt tension gauge.
