The nomination recognizes the Wireless Balancer’s breakthrough approach to balancing machines, introducing fully wireless synchronous measurement to a process long constrained by cables. For decades, field balancing required physical connections to maintain synchronism between sensors, tethering technicians to rotating equipment and creating cumbersome and potentially hazardous setups. By solving that fundamental limitation, the Acoem Wireless Balancer enables true wireless synchronous measurement through its WBS™ Methodology, removing cables from the process without sacrificing phase accuracy or precision.
The system enables single- and dual-plane balancing with precision up to 0.5° at 3000 RPM, allowing operators to step safely away from the machine during measurement. Wireless sensors synchronously capture data in real time across 6 directions, reducing machine stops and streamlining workflow.
Acoem’s Product Manager, Bertrand Wascat, shared:
“For years, balancing has required a compromise between mobility and measurement integrity. Our goal was to eliminate that compromise. By enabling true wireless synchronous measurement, we have changed how balancing can be performed in the field, making it safer, more efficient, and more accessible for reliability professionals.”
Beyond the breakthrough in wireless synchronism, the Wireless Balancer is designed to integrate seamlessly into Acoem’s connected, app-driven reliability platform. Sharing the same tablet environment as Acoem’s wireless shaft alignment and vibration diagnostics tools, and powered by the intuitive GuideU™ 3D interface, the Wireless Balancer expands access to advanced balancing technology for OEMs, service providers, and in-house reliability teams.
Acoem’s Chief Technology Officer, Peter Strömberg, added:
“With the AT Series for alignment, vibration diagnostics, and now the Wireless Balancer, we’ve built a unified reliability platform. What’s especially meaningful about Wireless Balancing is how GuideU™ makes it more accessible to a broader range of users. Balancing has traditionally required deep expertise and complex setups. By guiding users step by step through an intuitive, animated, icon-based interface, we’ve removed much of that friction, making advanced balancing more approachable without compromising precision.”
